“Do not train children to learning by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.” ~~ Plato
Hi! I'm Terri Hedrick and I live on a small farm in Florida with my talented, creative husband, and our two amazing daughters who take after their father in the talents department. I have over 20 years of experience as an educator, and I am a homeschooling parent just like you!
Before becoming a mom, I spent many years in the elementary classroom teaching all levels from pre-k to fifth grade, and several multi-age classes. I also taught middle school language arts, high school English, writing and AP classes, and adult education. Right now I teach special needs hospital/homebound students on a part-time basis.
My B.S. is in English and a M.S. in Education. I certified in Florida and Louisiana Elementary Grades K-6 and English Grades 6-12 and can do end of the year portfolio evaluations for any and all grade levels.
I have been doing consulting and evaluations since 2007 for clients all over Florida, as well as Virginia.
Some weeks I feel like a homeschooling, homesteading super mom. Other weeks I don't shower or put a bra on for days on end and eat Velveeta cheese and potato chips for lunch while my girls fend for themselves. ;-)
I do evaluations, consulting and monthly mentoring. See my services page for more information, and don't forget to stop by our storefront Windy Ridge Homestead where you can see some of my husband's hand-crafted items too!
