About Me
My name is Terri Hedrick and I do educational consulting, end of year homeschool evaluations and run a small part-time cottage school for homeschooled students. I am a homeschooling mom myself, and am (very slowly!) working toward a Ph.D. in Holistic Health.
I have a M.S. in Education and have taught in both public and private schools in New York and Florida for over 10 years. I have taught all grade levels from pre-K to 5, but enjoyed my time teaching in multiage classrooms best.
My specialties are reading, language arts and special needs children.
I am FL certified in Elementary Grades 1-6 and English Grades 6-12.
My philosophy is that children are natural learners and I believe very strongly in child-led programs. I think that to best serve your homeschooled child that you should act as a guide, more than an “imparter of information.”
I often take a holistic approach to learning, as I do to most of life. My doctoral studies are in Holistic Health. It is amazing how our health, and the health of our children, can impact every part of us, including how we learn. If you are interested in learning more about this you can see my Consulting Services page.
I will work with you according to your needs. Some clients want to know if their children are on “grade level” according to what the public schools are doing. Other families come to me to ask for support and help in accomplishing their own goals for the year. Many want specific advice on how to implement a reading program for their special needs child.
I want you to help you experience homeschooling as a fun adventure for your whole family. Contact me today!
